Hi all, So, I've been trying to re assemble the fuel pump and am having a hard time keeping the diaphragm in position. One valve with the spring on the bottom is pushing it up while the other is pushing it down resulting in distorting it and not sealing correctly. Does anyone have any tricks or tips on this problem? Thanks.

Not sure if it will help in your case...

Pick a side..
Get that part of the pump held in place (very light vice pressure on a convenient spot, cardboard or similar to prevent damage... just a 3rd hand... or have someone else help hold it.)
Using a credit card/gift card hold the diaphragm in place against one spring.
Place the other side of the pump + second spring in place and slide the card out.

It either works or it doesn't... but its simple and quick to try.

Yes, it's a new diaphragm, the old one was shot. I'll try the credit card method for sure! Thanks

???------Use 5 screws ( heads cut off ) as a fixture.-------Assemble the pump using those screws to hold things in place.----Remove screws one at a time and install correct screws.

Used some #10 bolts with the heads cut off like Racerone suggested and it went back together just perfect! Thanks!
