I have an old '82 25 hp johnson that I'll be removing the spacer in the mid section from and converting to short shaft... I can't find anything helpful on the google box or through the search in these forums that is helpful. Just need to know if it's possible to change from having the over-hub style exhaust to going through-hub. I plan on just completely replacing the foot/lower on the motor anyways when I shorten it, seems easier to just buy the new lower, I just can't find anything that will tell me if a new through hub would bolt up or not.
If anyone knows and can keep me from shelling out for the new lower only to find out it won't work later it'd save a noob a potentially HUGE amount of headache.

thanks, BK

There is no performance difference between the 2 so you would just be doing it for the looks.
