Anybody got a part number for a fuel pump kit for a 1962 5.5hp Johnson? I don't see anything close here at Iboats. The fuel pump part number is 304089.
Thanks!

yeah, consider pump replacement with the modern square one. could get some gasket material, and try to fabricate a gasket if one of yours needs replacement.

if you are really stuck just thread the vacum port install a nipple and hook up a cheap Briggs Stratton round pump ( $20)

send me your email address for some pics of a B&S mounted on a 5.5 mid 50s ...works great

Buy the pump for the 1974 and up 9.9/15 hp works great its what the dealer sold me for mine but i would recommend the aftermarket pump half the price.

Lindy, do you want to retain the original metal parts of the f/p?...I dunno, maybe Seaway, AOMCI, etc., might offer a solution for finding a kit or work around

Thanks all. Got around the problem by replacing the two mounting gaskets and cleaning the port on the engine and the back of the pump. Pumps fine now.
