Carburetor interchangeability on a J175EXEUC with E150EXEUC

I plan to replace the carbs and throttle bodies with those fron a 150 HP model. Will I have any issues or problems if I do this. Thanks for any comments.

The carbs should fit and the engine should run. You'll wind up with 25 less hp. I'd be concerned that the 175 has the high compression heads and is probably ported differently. If you swap to the 150 carbs, they may not run rich enough at WOT to keep the cyls cool. You may need to fatten up the mains slightly on the 150 carbs.

For what you gain by just changing the carbs it's not worth the time or the money. JMHO. :confused:

Sounds like he's going the other way, at least from how he worded it.

Thanks to everyone. I'll stick to 175HP components.......not worth the money I was saving.
