Ok got mine up an running! Just bought another 25hp evinrude, has anyone ever had the starter binexs come up and ting the flywheel while taking off. Never seen one do this and it will also do it at wot?

lube the shaft with a touch of OMC grease or similar. Bendix gear forced down by centrifugal force when flywheel starts turning clockwise. weak battery or wiring issues can cause the gear to temporarily stay engaged with the flywheel (not enough force to turn the flywheel with engine compression). Extra motors -- good idea.

Vibration is what causes the gear to come up and "ting". You didn't say what year, but there should be some sort of spring or snubber to keep that from happening.

If you look at the break down for your starter you will see a spring. Check to see if yours is broken. If so , buy a new spring, If not, clean and grease yours and happy boating...
