I recently bought a 1995 BF25 and when I had it running in the tank I noticed water running out from the top of the gear case. never had an outboard do that. There are 3 small holes made in it but im still not sure if this is normal,Is it?

thanks:suzzie

I don't know personally about your specific engine, but lots of OBs have both water and exhaust flowing through the gear case section. So it could be normal. Post pictures as where the water is coming out for us to see and then we can say for certain...

we dropped the gear case and saw that the holes in the gear case housing were plainly made there from the factory so im presuming it fine. it even has holes in the upper extension case. I just never had an ob do that before. My first Honda 4 stroke.
thanks for your replies but if anyone else thinks I may have a problem please let me know.

Thanks:suzzie
