Hello my tilt trim will not go up all the time. I have to tap the solenoid while holding down the switch to get it to function. I ordered two new solenoids. They are supposed to be compatible with my motor and all 2002 and ealier m 90a. However these solenoids have only 2 terminals to attach to my solenoid had 4 but only 3 where being used, my question Is how do I wire a two wire solenoid to replace a three wire solenoid? Can this be done? Is it advisable? I have my factory service Manuel.

You apparently got an aftermarket "one size fits all" item. Check with your dealer, as no one else knows for sure. I would recommend the actual part from Tohatsu, since it is still available.
