Just recently purchased a "new" used aluminum fishing boat that has a 1993 Honda 40hp 4-stroke tiller motor on the back. If I wanted to use it during the winter (on nice days), I have read that all I really have to do is lower the motor all the way down & this will drain all the water to prevent any freezing & damage. Do I also need to crank it over a few times to drain the water pump too? This is my first 4-stroke, so I was wondering if there is anything else that would need to be done to protect it from the occasional freezes that we have here in Wyoming clear into May. Winters can be long here, but we occasionally get some very nice weather & I get a little excited to get out when I have the opportunity! Any help is greatly appreciated.
