My old B100 drips oil from the lower unit when the boat is on the concrete. The engine is tilted up and I'm pretty sure that its motor oil and not lower unit lube.

Any ideas?

I guess I should add that it's leaking down from the inside of the engine and coming out the exhaust

You can buy green dye for the crankcase oil to help see where the oil is coming from (clean the engine first). Also might try some "stop leak" which is a chemical that swells the gaskets. Also check all visible fasteners for proper torque.

Good luck!

Thanks Packard8,

I believe it's leaking internally and running inside the exhaust and dripping off of the lower unit. Is there a seal or gasket on this motor that would let motor oil into the exhaust?

Mine leaks from the breather if I tilt the motor all the way and leave it straight. If I rotate it over onto the left/tiller side then it stops. I always drop it back down when parking, which makes it a non issue.

I don't believe anything is wrong with your motor, just not designed to 'lay' on the swivel side.
