Is there any difference between OMC and Honda Fuel Connectors?

I have a 2003 Honda BF5 and a 1987 Evinrude 9.9 that I alternate using on a 12 foot Trembley Skiff, which looks like a Carolina Skiff. The skiff will plane with my son only with the BF5 at 12 mph, but will fly with the 9.9, hitting almost 25 mph. I would like to be able to use the fuel tanks interchangeably. If the fuel connectors were interchangeable, then I wouldn't have to go to additional expense.

If you have generic tanks, with 1/4" pipe threads, just install the appropriate connector on the tank and the tank end of the hose, and you can interchange.
