I have a 2002 tohatsu 50 hp on my jon boat. It is set up for steering wheel steering right now. I want to convert it to stick steering. The control box for the throttle has long enough cables so there will be no problem there. But the cable or hose for my steering wheel looks a lot thicker than a cable for stick steering. Do they work basically the same way? Or will I have to do a lot of work to convert it. I have a picture of the steering cable. Thanks guys

The steering cable is usually thicker than the throttle and gear cables, works basically same. Thin ones performs a much lighter job, are not end compatible nor interchangeable with steering cable.

Stick steer systems also use that thicker, teleflex-style cable that passes through the tube on the outboard. When you order the control, get the appropriate cable with it.
