having an intermittent starting problem with my 1998 honda bf50 outboard. occasionally will have to fully open throttle (remote control), rather than just using the choke. once started, it seems to run ok. usually won't have to redo the full throttle later that trip, but sometimes will use choke. i replaced the fuel filter. have read that fuel pumps don't usually fail, but is that the likely culprit? also the primer bulb always needs squeezed before restarting anytime later on same outing. had a tune-up done in august. runs fine except for the starting problem. any help, ideas, would be appreciated.

Re: honda bf50 starting problem

Clean the carburetors, and use a pencil torch and a needle nose and lightly heat while pulling on the limit adjusting stops on the low speeds, they are set way to lean form to factory.
