Tohatsu 40d gear oil leak

Just rebuilt carbs and put in new water pump motor runs great. But when i changed gear oil found old oil white sign of water in it flushed out and refilled. Took out one time after a week noticed oil spot on driveway appears to be comeing from water inlet screen. Rechecked oil white again. where is leak and how do i repair any ideas appreciated.

Pressure test the lower unit and then repalce the bad seal or o-ring...Or, just put a seal kit in it.
