I have a 2000 Honda 115 FI Four Stroke that idles "fine", but when I put it under load at idle, it coughs, sputters and dies. It always starts right back up. It runs at all other RPMs great. I've put Fuel Injector cleaner through it, ensured there are no leads in the fuel lines and have even replace the Electronic Air Control 36550-ZW5-003.

I took a 4 minute video for you to hear it idling, then revving up, then idling under load.

Please view the video and tell me what you think it could possibly be.

Thanks in advance.

My Honda 115 was doing that. I found that it was the water pump going out. As the motor was heating up, it would cough, sputter and die. This is a design feature to prevent doing any damage to the motor.

Has it been sitting for any length of time? When you start the engine the timing is automatically advanced then as the engine warms it starts going down to normal idle timing. With no load I doubt the engine is heating up to critical temperatures that quickly. Check your fuel supply. Check pump pressures. Make sure you have clean gas.
