LOST!!!! Honda cover

Friend lost his cowl/cover for his 98 8hp Honda.
Was testing it and the cover fell off someplace in the Inter-coastal near Sebastian,Fl.

I'm trying the salvage yards but no luck yet.

My was damaged and I started looking for a new one, but found out really quickly they are hard to come by used. Brand new they are very expensive so I ended up repairing mine myself. Since your friend doesn't have this luxury I'd just keep checking around, maybe put a wanted ad on craigslist. Worst case maybe you can find one from a different brand that can be modified to work.

It's really a shame that most brand's cowls are very expensive, can't understand why, at least newer ones definitely are not hand made, are mold made.

Prob not, but any chance the cowling floats? If so, contact local marinas and boat launches....maybe somebody has/will turn it in.

This may be a bit of a stretch, but I have found 2 guys somewhat local to me with an assortment of cowlings that may have what your buddy needs. You may have him give them a call see if they have it. Maybe they would be willing to ship for the right price and I bet if they do have it, that it will be cheaper than buying it new.
