You probably have a wiring problem that is triggering the starter. I take it this is a TLDI motor? Is this with an RC box? If so, you may have a flaky key switch. What is the precise model/serial?

You have a TLDI model. But, the problem would be the same regardless of what you have. Crossed wire, incorrect wiring or ignition switch.

I would suggest you get a factory service manual, available from any dealer (including me) to review the wiring diagram. You can order Part# 003-21050-2 $27.58.
