Tohatsu controls and steering...

Helping with the install of a 97' Tohatsu 50hp w/PTT on a 16' runabout. It was originally rigged for a merc 80hp and only the steering cable remains. I have not seen the Tohatsu yet and am wondering if the steering should be plug and play with the correct drag link. If anyone knows of a set of used controls available I would be interested. Much to our surprise they seem to be rare and new are really a stretch for this project. There is not much support or enthusiasm for this brand around me, unfortunatley.

You should move and the steering is universal with a specific link.

Thanks Guru...I am actually looking forward to tinkering with the Tahatsu. You are not kidding about moving either!
