honda 45hp oil problem

I have a 45hp honda 1994 and starts and runs good. I ran it for 10 min and revved it and shut it off and checked the oil. When i took the dip stick out oil started pouring out of the hole when i removed the dipstick. Would this be due to a bad oil pump?

These engines can develop a leak at the seals under the powerhead ussually caused by a clumsy or overly aggressive person trying to hang that gearcase.Exhaust all other possibilities like head gasket,exhaust mani leaks,warped head,etc,etc.An oil pump will not make that happen.
