1992 Nissan 8 hp

Hi everyone. I am going to look at a 1992 8 hp. Nissan and am wondering if anyone has any first hand info about them. Other than scheduled maintenance, should there be anything in particular to look for? I hear and read that Nissans and Tohatsus are work horses. I am picking this up as a spare motor for my 16' utility as many local waters have a 10 hp restriction.

It's the "little sister" of the M9.8. Smooth 2-cyl operation, and durable. WP kits and carb kits are still available, and will be for some time. Like any used OB, condition is everything. So you need to verify compression, ease of starting, telltale stream, and overall appearance to determine how "babied" or "beaten" it was with its previous owner.
