I cannot get shift rod a to release from the shift shaft so I can remove the extension case on my Honda. It feels like there is something retaining the rod in the shift shaft but the maintenance manual and microfiche schematics do not show anything that should be holding it in place. I attempted to pull the rod out of the shaft but it won't release. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
