Re: Honda BF8 tiller to remote shift
I have a BF8AM, circa 1997, and I am pretty sure the shop manual shows some kind of remote throttle/shift option - but my manual is not handy right now (like, 150 miles away). I'd call a local Honda dealer, or an online parts dealer, with your serial number and ask them if there is an option you can buy.
I just disassembled my tiller to grease it, and it's basically just a cable that ends at a slide, which gets pulled in and out by a sort of diagonal slot as you twist the handle. The shift is even simpler. I'd think there must be some kind of option.
