Hoped that when removing the shift linkage after 300 metered hour use to check impeller wear as recommended by the factory, was going to be extremely easy, was not, the spring pin was severely seized, after applying brake fluid and banging with a metal pointer managed to remove the pin, but was severely damaged as to use it again. Tried with spares R.pins code 951603-0800 and bingo, the width matches perfectly and system works same as with original pin.

Once completely passed through joint shift rod, bend straight left portion to form a perfect V, secure with rubber o'ring or tie wrap, don't worry about loosing it while boating, water flow does not touches shift rod joint at all, outperforms original part when quick dissasembling is a must do job. As a safety issue, carry a spare. Will work same on any other Tohatsu model that has same 18 tail configuration look.

Happy Boating
