used to start right away and run all day no problem, then one day, it will not start via the starter, though I can get the motor started manually with the pull cord. Tried the starter and nada, does not even spin or no audible click. I know the battery is on the weak side. Could it be due to weak battery? I read somewhere that you could jump the starter to see if it still functioning. What to look for? The motor is mid 90s. thanks!

Re: honda 9.9 starter question

Check your connections, take them loose and clean there the try again. If you have a jumper battery you can just hook it up to your onboard battery post and that will let you know if your onboard battery is bad or bad connections. Most likely a loose ground.
