Nissan lower unit removal

2003 Nissan plus 70 hp. Removed pin from shift linkage and six bolts from lower unit. Lower unit came down about half an inch and now it won't budge. Can't get it to go up or down. What am I missing?

The driveshaft is likely stuck in the crankshaft. It needs more persuasion, and possibly patience. In our shop, we sometimes use wooden wedges, driven between the LU and the exhaust housing with a mallet, to help a stuck LU come down. If the driveshaft has been twisted, it's even more difficult.
