Hey all. Newbie here. I have a Honda 15 4 stroke used but new to me. It isn't pumping any water out the back. Bad impellor I guess.

Questions. Is there a water pump in addition to the impellor?

To replace the impellor, do I remove the 4 bolts on the lower half of the unit? Is there oil in there?

How difficult is it to replace?

any help would be great. thanks

Re: Honda 15hp cooling "not"

Pretty straight forward. Disconnect the shift lever, put in reverse and unscrew the locking nut, just enough to allow you to turn the long nut down to disconnect the rod. That way when you put it back together you don't mess up the shift linkage. You can just replace the impeller or the entire pump. That is the complete water pump. It is held in place w/4 small bolts. Put a little dish soap on the impeller to make it go in easier and turned in the right direction, pay attention when you remove it for the direction.
The only oil is in the lower gear unit, if you don't know when it was replaced last, now is the perfect time.
