honda 50 oil light and steady beep

1998 honda BF 50hp. My oil light comes on along with a constant beep. I changed the oil but that did not stop it. Its at the appropriate level. The alarm does not come on until about an hour to an hour and a half of trolling. The water coming out of the pisser is normal temp. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

That green oil light should always be on.Green is go .If you are getting a yellow or red light ,depending on the control or panel,that indicates an overheat situation and fits this profile.Pull the gearcase down and change the water pump and blow a hefty puff of compressed air back through that water tube while that gearcase is off.

You DID change oil filter, too, right???

It turned out to be a faulty oil pressure sensor.
