Honda BF225 2009 model, fuel rigging is leaking at joint, immediately before the engine grommet. (see pics).

Can I replace the black plastic joint with brass barb connector and SS hose clamps? and if so...

What is the correct fuel line diameter?

I'm assuming the grey line is metric but, my boat came rigged with 3/8 hose running from Racor to primer bulb to this joint.

Why not just put a stainless clamp on the current hose and tighten it up so that it does not leak. The hose is soft enough to squeeze it down enough to stop any leak.

Eliminate the splice altogether due to the flexing in that part of the line. Use one line (metric size) from bulb to engine. Sorry I can't tell the exact size.

Thanks. I was going to try the SS clamp on the 3/8 " hose first, but I was concerned about inability to get a good fit, especially with the plastic connector. If that doesn't work, I might a 3/8 "(or metric equivalent) brass barbed connector with SS clamps. Ultimately, I agree, a single line would be best.

Other than cost, I can't figure out why Honda uses this plastic joint and zip ties!

Also be aware that ss clamps may chafe wiring or control cables inside that conduit. Can't say if it was Honda's fault, could be boat Mfg. or whoever installed engine.

One thing about owning a Honda, expect to pay 3 to 4 times the value for their branded parts like filters, etc.
