Hallo

I need to change my throttle and gear cables (only 3yrs old ) as one of em is rusting due to bad installation by the ?$%^&*# shop. (hole is in the wrongplace so cables hv alot of stress on them control box side.

Is there a rule of thumb regarding cable lenghts pls?
I cld always replace the cables with a pair of the lenght I have now, however I am not too happy with how the cables go in and out (engine side) of the `grommet` when I steer ... in other words they get stuck outside instead of going in back the `grommet`.

rgds and sun
:)

The general rule for cables is to measure from the front of where the control mounts back to the stern of the boat, then measure from the side of the boat to the center, then add three feet.
