Cranked motor, no water cooling, removed thermostat still no water, removed lower unit to check impeller. No ears gone, not brittle, very pliable, fits snugly in sleeve. Water tube clear and fits into pump snuggly. RAN MOTOR WITH EARS, NO PUMPING, PUT IN BARREL AND COMPLETELY SUBMERGED LOWER UNIT, still no water. Drive shaft secured to water pump with key and operating correctly. Need some suggestions. Thanks

It's 2 or 4 strokes engine ? No water cooling from where, back middle engine area or pee hole ? Are impeller housing gaskets in perfect shape, that is not broken, bent whatever ?

Yes, having your correct model/serial would help. If you are checking the telltale "pee" tube, it may just be clogged. Typically that is cleared in the field by pushing a stiff wire up it while the motor is running.

As mentioned, you might be getting good cooling water, just no indicator. A shot of compressed air up the pee hole may blow out the obstruction ( anywhere in that circuit) if that's the issue.
