Honda B100s year and almost no com on one silinder?

i just cot a out board from my nabor that his father was going to throgh out..
becaus of low / almost no compresion on one silinder (topp one)
but the werd thing is that it runs kinda good ecsept that you can notis just a litle lack in power.... any idea?

also im wondering on the year its made?
the plate says B100s - 1303392
also is it a 10hp? caus he thaught it was a 5-6hp?

Maybe ask your Nabor what happened to the topp silinder on the out board.

he dosen know.... it has been standing for some time... it was used more in the later years on 3 or 4 boat they mostly use 1 and 2 they have about 5 he he he

Well Tropax, just how mechanically inclined are you? What is the compression of the top cylinder? It maybe as simple as a gas wash problem or rings not seating properly due to sitting for so long....if that's the case, you're going to simply need to run it a bit with good clean oil.

It could also be indicitive of something more serious, such as a burnt valve, valve train problem or piston issue. It could be a blown head gasket.....etc. Lots of possibilities here and diagnostic skills will be of utmost importance.

Can you be a bit more descriptive?

im have a full understanding of engins (have been by ocupation) but was just wandering if there were any standard/tipikal/comon things on this engin type.

ill throw it on the jigg and start testing soon

If you have poor compressoin readings, the next step is a leakdown test to determine where that leakage is occuring and what to do about it.
