Nissan N5002 50 HP manual start

A manual start 50 HP, will not start easily, even with gas/oil sprayed directly into carbs. It will start quickly with ether, then will run OK.

Any suggestions on what to look for?

Check compression and reeds.

Using ether is about the quickest way to damage your engine that I can think of...Pick up a service manual and start trouble shooting or run it by a dealer.
