Honda 2HP as Kicker

Hello,

I used my Honda 2hp 4 stroke as a trolling motor on my 17ft aluminum bowrider. I was unable to remove the sparkplug after 3 hours of trolling. The motor was working fairly hard at a slow trolling speed..Is it possible that the engine was running too hot causing the plug to become seized? Do you think this motor is too underpowered for this application? Any advise would be appreciated.

Yes. That's an air cooled model that was never designed for that application. You really need a 4 or larger...Plus you will eventually tear that centrifugal clutch out of the Honda.

Any advice on removing the plug...I only tried when the motor was hot..Its been a few days..Any tips?

It should come out now that it has cooled down.
