Nissan 99 NS50D2 Oil Alarm question

Hello,

Last week while running the boat I began to hear a very faint alarm from the control box while in gear. Alarm would turn off in neutral. Got back to the house and noticed while flushing the motor that the oil light was lit. Oil tank almost full, barely used any oil besides running 5-10miles.

How difficult is it to diagnose this problem? Debating on maybe just disconnecting the auto mix and mixing oil myself, any problems with doing this?

Either a bad sender in the tank or a short in the wiring.

That's the equivalent of cutting off your thumb because you have a ragged fingernail.
