Can you increase the Horse Power of a Nissan 18 Horse Power 2 Stroke?

I read a forum yesterday about the conversion process for a 9.9 to 15.
I have a 1999 Nissan 2 stroke 18hp. I would like to increase its horse power if this is possible? I am retired and have basic skills (and with things being what they are a new motor is not in the cards).
I am looking for information and guidance; any assistance is greatly appreciated.
