Honda standard thrust vs power thrust difference

I have a 8HP standard manual start 2006 Honda 4 stroke(BF8). I have been told by a couple of mechanics and dealers that there is absolutely no difference between the motors except the prop(9 1/4 x 8 inches vs 10 x 6.5 inches). Both have the same gear ratio and bottom units 2.33:1. The reason I'm asking is that I want to switch out the prop for the Honda high thrust prop to use as a kicker/troller. Also are there any other differences between the motors besides the "power thrust" sticker and prop? Thanks!

Re: Honda standard thrust vs power thrust difference

Most outboard motor companies increase horsepower by changing the carburetor. Most of the other components are these motors are usually the same. I would doubt very very much that you can change horsepower by changing a prop. One changes a prop usually to achieve the proper range of rpms that a motor is suppose to run at wide open throttle.
