1992, 2stroke, 30HP Nissan wont shut off???.....help Please!!!

I recently replaced the power pack on my motor and she starts right up and runs good, however when I shut the key off the engine will not shut off and I have to pull the choke out to get it to die. Any suggestions to what the problem is....I am not good with low voltage electrical so if you can help me out its appreciated! Thanks.

Sounds like you missed a wire. Does it stop if you hit the stop switch? I think the kill switch wires are black and brown on those models. Recheck your CD installation. A Factory service manual will detail the wire color codes. If you can't part with the cash to get one from a dealer, at least check the wiring routing available on Elvin's website at http://www.internetoutboards.com/PartsCatalogMenu.htm

Thankyou for your help, I forgot to connect the brown and black wires. A schematic I had looked at showed me for a tachometer so i didnt worry about hooking them up at first. Now all is working great. Thanks for all of your help.
