Trim and Tilt Honda 200

2002 Honda 200HP Tilt Motor makes the sound OK. Oil leaked out suddenly and I'm told I need a new "trim and Tilt Unit" from Honda @ $2500 plus 3 hours labor due to corrosion. Is there an aftermarket or salvage resource that anyone knows about. Does this seem like a logical problem and fix?

That is not entirely unresonable.The trouble with rebuilding these units is you take the time to pull the engine off the boat ,split the transom bracket ,remove the unit ,diassemble and inspect and clean maticulously,reinstall,only to find out it will still not hold trim under power and have to start all over.Believe me.No shop wants to risk eating that kind of labor.
