Hi,

I have just been through the search on this subject but haven't found the answer. We are just back from Cranberry lake with the boat and motor I got from he inlaws, its a 1987 vintage BF100L model based on the serial number of 170XXXX something. My questions are because this is my first 4 stroke I don't know if the motor is suppose to run as hot as it does, there is a steady stream of water coming out the pee hole. Does this mean that the water has been through the engine or can this water by pass the thermostat somehow ? I don't have a shop manual yet so I'm ignorant. It does seem to be pretty hot yet there were no performance issues.

I see from the posts that there could be some impeller or other debre blocking the thermostat, If I do have to take off the manifold what are the torque numbers need for the bolts and cap nuts. I appreciate your help and info. Thanks

T Mak
