While following the owners manual for winter storage last fall. The manual was telling me to remove the clear tubing from the bottom of the silencer cover. (Then attach to vapor separator to drain...which i did).The small plastic male nipple on the bottom of the silencer cover that it was attached to broke off. What is the purpose of this tube when its attached to the silencer cover....if any? To store the tubing? Is it critical ? Keep in mind i was told that replacing the silencer cover is $300.00. I am hundreds of miles away from my nearest Honda "dealer". I cant get a mechanic on the phone from the where I bought the boat and motor. They did email me a parts list. Any ideas ? It appears to run fine without it. Any replies would be appreciated. Thanks.
