I have a 2005 Honda 15 outboard that has been trouble since the start.
Im in the Arctic and we have long winters and breif summers.
With about 30 hours on it it threw a connecting rod out in the ocean.
We sent it to the dealer and it took 6 months for them to fix it, and then we were charged for a new carberator and mechanic time.
When I read the manual it said it should have been warrenty work, and the dealer refused to return it untill my wife payed almost 500$ for the carberator work.
We got it, and it ran 20 or so minutes before stopping and never starting again.
So we sent it to a different dealer who repaired the problem and we recived it last december. This spring, when our river ice went out, two weeks ago I took it and treyd it and it will fire but not stay on.
I can get it to start easily enough but it wont even run for a minute. I have cleaned the jets holes, and every possible place,floats,passages and plungers... It runns fine and then searches for gas before quitting. I have repetedly cleaned the carb and checked all fittings.The carb was reported as entirly "new" but I dont belive alaska Mining and Diving anymore.
My Green light Does NOT come on.
Could it be an oil or heat sensor shutting me down, after a breif good run??
It has very few hours.
