Everytime I change my lower unit oil to prepare it for the summer season there is approximately 3 or 4 ounces of clear water that comes out of the oil drain before the oil comes out. Is this normal? It sits in my garage for about 6 to 7 months in between seasons. My boat guy told me that it is normal condensation, is that correct. I have no metal shavings or milky oil, the water is seperated from the oil and comes out first. It just scares me to have any water w/ oil. Thanks

It is not normal. You have a leak.

The oil separates from the water over the winter. In a very cold environment, you might even get a broken LU housing due to freezing water expansion. I would re-seal the LU, including all seals, gaskets, and shift rod o-rings (the latter often overlooked).
