I have scrapped and slightly bent the lower 1/2" of the skeg on my Honda 50HP outboard. About a 1/4" square piece of the bottom trailing edge is missing. I have ground all rough edges smooth, and will leave the slight bend as is rather than risk breaking it trying to bend it back. Question: What should I use to prime the bare aluminum before repainting it Honda Silver if i can find it. Will be using it in fresh water for the next few weeks so am not concerned with immediate corrosion. Lesson Learned.. Don't launch with motor down and tilt it up when appraoching dock to load when not sure of water depth.. UGH!

You should be able to buy primer and paint in cans from the dealer. It may have to be ordered.
