I just replaced the oil filter on my outboard. How do I go about priming the oil pump? I have a service manual and the factory manual and both are vague. Do I add oil to the cup before bleeding the air from the pump or do I just put the filter/cup back on, bleed the air, and then crank it up? Thanks in advance.

Number two...We always test run an engine of off a weak oil ratio pre mix tank on any brand oil injection model that has a mechanical oil pump. Ten to 15 minutes at idle should do it.

OK, so I bled the air and could see the oil from the tank filling the filter cup. Should I see oil in the line from the filter cup to the oil pump, cause I'm not seeing it. I've been running it on pre-mix out in the yard and just want to make sure. Thanks.

Yes, you should. You might try pre loading the oil lines and then check to see if you are maintaining the flow. This stuff is in your manual.
