The throttle friction dial on my 2001 Honda 9.9D with tiller controls doesn't hold like it used to. I can twist it clockwise to tighten and just at the point it should hold, it "clicks" and freewheels again with no friction. At any point before I get to the "click" point, it won't hold the throttle position. Any Ideas? If any replacements parts are needed, installation directions would also help. Thanks! BrianW

Re: Honda 9.9D Throttle Friction Dial

Brian,

That's an issue that was addressed in a "Service Bulletin" issued by Honda. Some models came with a faulty thread and in case your model is one of them, I believe they would fix it for you for free. I had that problem with my 20hp and they fixed it. I suggest contacting a dealer and telling him about your problem. I'm positive about the bulletin, I just can't remember its number or year.
