Nissan 92 9.9b2 water pump replacement

I got stuck at 4 bolts off on the LU, it won't move. The manual I have is useless and does not instruct on how to remove the LU. Please advise me as to what I'm missing here. Is there shift linkage etc that needs to be dealt with?

Is there a good tutorial online?

Disconnect the linkage, no tutorial available on ine and get the factory manual.

thanks for the quick help.

man that thing was just about welded shut with corrosion. Had to use a come-a-long to get pressure on it and shims to get it apart. Unfortunately I cracked the housing and now exhaust leaks out, will this cause me any trouble? I know it isn't ideal but can I get a few years out of it?

oh, sure pumped good once it was fixed. I was pretty proud for doing it with no instructions, outside of the major screwup cracking the housing...doh!

Other than increased noise you should be fine.
