Hi There & greetings from the UK.

I wonder if somebody can help me please. I have a 2006-7 Tohatsu 70c EPTOL which from day one has made a loud disturbing clicking noise when raising the leg using the power trim. My dealer says that it is nothing to be worried about but I am not so sure. I have checked the oil fill level on the trim and it appears to be full. Could there be trapped air in the oil reservoir?
Any advice or diagnosis and fix is much appreciated. thanks.

Hi Guru,
Yes you are right it is an intermittent raunching groan, it sounds like it is a struggle for the trim motor, the noise is worrying. It only happens at the lower end of the trim movement when under a lifting load. Do you have any ideas?

Thanks. Bob.

Nothings wrong. It's "normal" for a really tight Japanese trim system to groan.

Thanks for the replies. I feel a little less worried now.
