Honda 2HP Gas Cap

We are in a bit of a pickle. We are up in Lake Tahoe and my daughter dropped the gas cap in the lake. The closest Honda dealer is an hour away and there is no guarantee that he will have one. Are there any options for replacements from other brands?

I realize this is an old thread and probably won't help the OP. That said, the same thing happened to me. It took 3 business days to get a new cap. If you google 17620-ZW6-030 (gas cap part number), you will find several places to order a replacement cap. My "keep" that holds the cap when it's not screwed in, failed.

For an emergency cap, I ripped the pocket off of a yellow rain coat and fastened it around the cap with a rubber band. Poking a small hole in the material served as a air vent and the engine ran great.
