I'm having a heck of a time finding a lower unit for a 93 Honda BF45. Every place I go, they don't seem to have them. Can anyone give me a source for checking into one? The motor I have is coming for free from my brother, the only issue is a cracked gear housing down around the prop shaft. I need to convert it to a 15 inch shaft anyway and I'm looking for the correct parts to do it with or a lower unit with the short shaft.
On a side note, I hear that some of the Honda lower units are made by Mercury, any truth to that at all? Could I look for a Mercury lower unit to fit on my motor?
