Tohatsu M 40C Repair Manual

As the new owner of a '93 Tohatsu M40C I'd like to know where to get a good repair manual?

Also a mechanic recommended that I use a 33:1 oil mixture instead of the normal 50:1 ratio. Anything to this?

Any Tohatsu or Nissan dealer for the manual and there is no reason to and you should not run the engine at 33:1. 50:1 provides plenty of protection for a healthy engine and if the engine is not healthy running a richer mix isn't going to help.

Since you are buying this from a mechanic, it might have been recently rebuilt, new pistons, rings, etc. He might have been indicating to run the heavier oil mix just for a tank or two, for part break-in. I would check again with him for clarity. Otherwise, that ratio is just going to smoke more and foul more plugs.
