Lower Unit oil 9.8 nissan

Hello,

Could someone tell me what color the lower gear oil should be after running it all summer. I used Nissan lower gear oil. It came out a yellowish color. Does this seem right?

Amber to Black. Amber if it is clean and as the gearoil becomes used it will darken. You should change it every year or every 100 hours of operation.
